Sport's highest court will rule on Brazilian swimmer Cesar Cielo's doping case before the world championships, with a hearing scheduled next week in Shanghai.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport says its panel will rule within two days ¿ at least two days before the swimming competition starts on July 24.
Cielo is set to defend his world titles in the 50 and 100 meter freestyle events, but swimming's governing body FINA wants him banned.
FINA has challenged a Brazilian federation decision to give Cielo only a warning after he tested positive for furosemide, a banned diuretic and masking agent, at a meet in Rio de Janeiro in May.
The Olympic 50 freestyle champion says the drug was in a contaminated food supplement.
