Peruvian judokas German Velazquez, Carlos Zegarra, Liliana Delgado, and Alonso Wong are intensifying their training before the Grand Slam of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, which will take place on June 18 and 19. This event is a qualifier for the 2012 London Olympics.
The athletes will arrive on June 17 and will stay past the the tournament until June 23.
Carlos Zegarra will also represent Peru in the World Cup which will take place in Sao Paulo on June 25 and 26.
It's worth remembering that Velazquez and Zegarra both participated in the recent Grand Slams of Baku and Moscow, respectively. They performed well, but were unable to finish among the top five in their categories.
