The International Tennis Federation and the Professional Tennis Association announced on Wednesday an agreement to use a points system to rate the men's field for the London Olympic Games, which will be played in Wimbledon.

The men's tournament champion will receive 750 points, second place will receive 450 points, and there will be 350 points for the third-place finisher. The women's champion will get 685 points, 470 for second place, and 340 for third.

Each country will have a maximum of six participants, with four sports for individual male competition and two spots for doubles.

The women's competition will also be ranked via a points system, using the same criteria as the WTA circuit.
