The office of Mexico's attorney general recently ordered the arrest of former sprinter Ana Guevara, for charges of not paying over $51,000 in taxes in 2005.

However, the former champion of the 400 meter run has been fortunate up to now, because a district judge sent back the arrest order on Monday, stating that the attorney general's office did not exhaust all previous avenues before ordering the capture.

The department apparently did not go through the reconciliation and arbitration procedures in order to try to reach an agreement between Guevara and the state.

For now, the state will give Guevara a set period of time to pay her fiduciary obligation, before reconsidering the arrest order.
