Australian swimmer Ian Thorpe is back. The nine-time Olympic medal winner announced his return to the water in February after a retirement of nearly five years. This Wednesday he declared that he is starting to regain his form and condition on the road to the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

"I'm starting to look like a swimmer again," said the 28 year-old Thorpe.

"I'm satisfied. I'm happy but I still have much to do. Being satisfied is never enough. But I am happy."

Thorpe is Australia's all-time leading medal winner, and he looks to return to official competition in November at the Swimming World Cup in Singapore. But his main objective is London 2012 and that's why he is hard at work training with Russian Gennadi Touretski.

After winning nine medals, including five gold, Thorpe left the sport in 2006.
