Olympic Park, where the London 2012 Games events will be held, has unveiled the venue reserved for handball competition. With the handball arena construction, 83% of the building projects for the Olympics are complete.

Britain's Sports Minister, Hugh Robertson, said in a news release that slightly more than 15% of the facilities at Olympic Park remain to be completed.

The handball arena, the latest venue, will become a multi-sport venue for the community of Stratford and for athlete training throughout the year, when the Games are over. Stratford is the London neighborhood where most Olympic events will take place.

Completion of the 3,000-square-meter venue, with room for 7,000 spectators, comes after the velodrome and the Olympic stadium were completed in February and March.

More than 240 British companies received contracts related to work on the Olympic stadium, which has a capacity of 80,000 seats and cost 486 million pounds (792 million dollars). Some 5,250 people worked on the project during the last three years.
