Soccer

Played and admired throughout the world, football (or soccer) originated in England, and although there are indications that it was first played circa the 2nd century, modern rules date back to the beginning of the 19th century.

Football is very easy to play, hence its popularity. There are 11 players on each team. They use a ball, and can also use their bodies except for their hands to move or pass the ball. The sole object of the game is to score goals and to stop the opposing team from scoring, be it to seek the glory in the World Cup or to emulate a world idol such as Pelé, Maradona or Messi.
