Its history is almost three thousand years old, with the creation of kayaks by the Eskimos that lived in the territory that is now known as Canada. The other variables are the canoes that were used around the world, with ancient originals. The first appearance of Rowing in the Olympic Games was in Berlin 1936.
Currently, there are two forms of Olympic rowing: speed and slalom. The latter takes place in rivers and tranquil lakes, while the lather takes place in rivers with currents. The Olympic distances are 1000m, 500m and 200m (the last one debuting in London 2012), which usually take place in courses with nine lanes.
